Lea County Road Department

The Lea County Road Department provides 13 different Services to the residents of Lea County. Our mission is to provide and improve the road infrastructure of Lea County in a safe economical fashion and to provide the services at the best quality possible. Many of the services we provide, such as the Vector Control, Voting and Signs are services that are staffed by employees that are on other crews in the department. There are eight such positions that share these duties. There is one new service to this department, which is the Planning Department. Our mission is to identify transportation needs, options and resources, both on County Roads and State Highways running across Lea County, to address the public needs with County Subdivisions, development, E-911 addressing and miscellaneous road issues. The Planning Department consists of two personnel. The data they collect will permit much better strategic planning and implementation of project that affect the Road Department and the citizens of Lea County.
