The Lea County Special Rodeo Committee is busy making plans for our 2013 Special Rodeo. We anticipate that this will be an excellent year for us. With the continued support of our community sponsors, many dreams can come true.

We provide a valuable service for many children, ages 3 – 16, in our county who are often overlooked. These activities are generally not available to children with physical or mental disabilities. Not only do we pull a float in the parade each year, we also put on the Special Rodeo during the Lea County Fair and Rodeo each August. The rodeo is set up as a mock rodeo that allows the participants to be paired up with a cowboy from Lea County and participate in rodeo events such as a barrel race, dummy roping, a flag race, event pictures, and a rodeo petting zoo.
